Award-winning Sundance filmmaker Greg Reitman will present his latest documentary feature film, ROOTED in PEACE, at the Montreal World Film Festival. The film will have two screenings at the CINEMA QUARTIER LATIN–FFM: Sunday at noon and Monday at 3 PM.

This marks the international premiere of the film, which launched at the prestigious Sedona International Film Festival, and continues to play at festivals across and outside North America.

On his personal journey to find the meaning of peace, Reitman, Hollywood’s “Green Producer,” seeks the counsel of many of today’s top thought leaders and activists. The many interviews in the film drive the personal narrative. In his search of answers to the violence being done to nature, others and ourselves, he meets with such luminaries as Deepak Chopra, Nobel Peace Laureate Mairead Maguire, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, media mogul Ted Turner, music legends Donovan, Mike Love, and Pete Seeger, film director David Lynch, neuroscientist Dan Siegel and many others.

After participating in peace marches, tree plantings, and other approaches to try and deal with a culture invested in violence, Reitman learns more about himself, his own inner trauma and its effect on his own personal health. He learns that change begins within, and the world is as you are. He takes to heart Maharishi Mahesh Yogi’s words, that if the forest is to be green, every tree must be green; if there’s going to be Peace on earth, then everybody needs to experience that quality of Peace within themselves.

David Lynch whose in the film commented, “I think it is very important for today !!! Very important !!! ” See a trailer for the film at http://www.rootedinpeacefilm.com. Find out more about Greg Reitman and his production company Blue Water Entertainment, Inc. at http://www.bluewatercompany.com.
