Maharishi University of Management students and Donavan participate in a ‘ROOTED in PEACE’ tree planting ceremony with Greg Reitman, founder of Blue Water Entertainment

LOS ANGELES, CA, NOVEMBER 12th, 2009 — Greg Reitman, founder of Blue Water Entertainment, announced the ‘ROOTED in PEACE’ tree planting ceremony to occur with famous singer/songwriter, Donavan and the Maharishi University of Management students tomorrow, November 13th, 2009.

Award-winning filmmaker Greg Reitman of Blue Water Company has returned to Fairfield, Iowa to continue filming interviews for his new film, ‘ROOTED in PEACE’. He is scheduled to interview David Lynch, Donovan, and Bob Roth, VP of the David Lynch Foundation. Greg will also be interviewing and filming students from MUM’s very popular Sustainable Living Program.

‘ROOTED in PEACE’, a Greg Reitman film, originated from Greg’s personal journey and experience of living in Israel during the first Gulf War and witnessing firsthand the gruesomeness of war and its impact on the region. In response to our current global war crisis, the filmmaker investigates what he believes to be the root of global conflict. In a quest to reconcile global violence, Greg examines the roots of fundamentalism and how religious dogma affects the consciousness of humankind and the vitality of the planet Earth.

Greg states, “true change begins ‘One Tree At A Time’ and the students here at Maharishi
University are at the forefront of understanding what it means to be green conscious leader in the new millennium.”

This special event coincides with the annual David Lynch Weekend, which takes place during the monthly Maharishi University Visitors Weekend.

About ROOTED in PEACE

‘ROOTED in PEACE’ is a personal journey of filmmaker GREG REITMAN who relives his past experience of living in Israel during the first Gulf War and witnessing firsthand the gruesomeness of war and its impact on the region. In response to our current global war crisis, the filmmaker examines what he believes to be the root of global conflict. In a quest to reconcile global violence, the filmmaker examines the roots of fundamentalism and how religious dogma affects the consciousness of humankind and the vitality of the planet Earth. The filmmaker’s ultimate quest is to ascertain whether the dogma of religion will ultimately control the species and bring destruction to the planet or will humankind prevail and shift its consciousness toward reconciling interfaith coexistence, and the desire to live in a world filled with love and compassion for all humankind.
